Canon 60D Preview
Canon 60D Preview
froknowsphoto.com Here is a preview of the just announced Canon 60D DSLR body. Expect a lot more Canon reviews, unboxing and Sniff tests as we move forward on froknowsphoto.com Here are the specs on this just announced camera with my thoughts. 18 MP APS-C CMOS sensor Nice Sensor, will give you some pretty good Hi-ISO performance and solid video. Advanced creative features with Basic + I am not a fan of in camera corrections or editing, why edit on a 3 inch screen when you have something better at home. Vari-angle 7.7cm (3.0") 3:2 ratio LCD Cool idea, but not very practical for shooting photos, good for low or high angle video shooting. Full HD movies with manual control Great feature to have all the different HD frame rates as well as audio mic input for better quality. DIGIC 4 Same processor as other canon cameras ISO 100-6400, H:12800 Huge range, quality probably falls apart around 3200 will have to test one out to see. 5.3fps shooting for up to 58 JPEGs Would like to know how many RAW frames you can bugger opposed to Jpeg 9-point cross type AF System A major FAIL as this is an old AF system that was in the 50d. iFCL metering with 63-zone Dual-layer Sensor New metering system this is a good thing Integrated Speedlite transmitter This is something the nikons have done for a while In-camera RAW processing A joke, do not edit your raw files in the camera!!!! Canon EOS 60D Review
Amendment: You CAN see the level guage in the viewfinder of the 60D. Check the user manual for details. This is awesome for me! ...and something else I didn't mention. The 60D has very good internal RAW image processing. It lets you adjust all kinds of things like brightness, color...and even lets you reduce chromatic aberration with certain lenses! Very cool. Here are some of my impressions of this fantastic piece of kit. Hope y'all find this useful. I compared it a lot to the 550D because I think people will find that a useful comparison, and it's where my experience lies. The big lens you can see on the camera is the Canon f2.8 17-55mm. Canon 60D: 17.9 megapixel APS-C sensor 9 point AF (f2.8 sensitive in the center) ISO up to 12800 3.0" TFT articulated LCD screen (1040000 pixels (3:2)) Continuous shooting approx 5.3 fps Memory format: SD card (also SDHC, SDXC) Movie mode: 1080p (30, 25, 24 fps) 720p (60, 50 fps) 640 x 480, 640 x 480 crop mode (x6 magnification) Microphone socket Optional manual microphone volume setting Any questions, drop me a comment. Subscribe for more photography stuff as I get on to it. Get the Canon 60D :-)
